Plastic molds are tools used in the plastic processing industry to complement plastic molding machines, endowing plastic products with complete configurations and precise dimensions. According to different molding methods, it can be divided into different types of molds. A tool for producing industrial parts with specific shapes, sizes, functions, and qualities by using various systems or auxiliary mechanisms within the mold to fill plastic particles into the mold cavity through high-temperature liquefaction. Common mold classifications can be divided into the following categories:
01 Single parting surface injection mold
When opening the mold, the moving and fixed molds are separated to remove the plastic part, which is called a single parting surface mold or a double plate mold. It is the simplest and most basic form of injection molding, which can be designed as a single cavity injection mold or a multi cavity injection mold according to needs. It is the most widely used injection mold.
02 Double parting surface injection molding
The dual parting surface injection mold has two parting surfaces. Compared with the single parting surface injection mold, the dual parting surface injection mold adds a locally movable intermediate plate (also known as a movable gate plate, which is equipped with gates, runners, and other parts and components required for the fixed mold) in the fixed mold section, so it is also called a three plate (moving template, intermediate plate, fixed template) injection mold, It is commonly used in injection molds with single or multiple cavities for point gate feeding. During mold opening, the intermediate plate is separated from the fixed template at a certain distance on the guide pillar of the fixed mold, in order to extract the pouring system condensate between these two templates.
The double parting surface injection mold has a complex structure, high manufacturing cost, and difficult component processing. It is generally not used for the forming of large or oversized plastic products.
03 Injection mold with lateral parting and core pulling mechanism
When the plastic part has side holes or recesses, it needs to be formed using a laterally movable core or slider. After injection molding, the moving mold first moves downward for a certain distance, and then the inclined section of the bent pin fixed on the fixed template forces the slider to move outward. At the same time, the push rod of the demolding mechanism pushes the push plate to detach the plastic part from the core.
04 Injection mold with movable forming parts
Due to certain special structures of plastic parts, injection molds are required to have movable forming components, such as movable convex molds, movable concave molds, movable inserts, movable threaded cores or rings, which can be removed from the mold together with the plastic parts during demolding and then separated from the plastic parts.
05 Automatic Thread Removal Injection Mold
For plastic parts with threads, when automatic demolding is required, a thread core or ring that can rotate can be installed on the mold. By using the mold opening action or the rotation mechanism of the injection molding machine, or by setting a specialized transmission device, the thread core or ring can be driven to rotate, thereby demolding the plastic part.
06 Injection Mold without Runner
Non runner injection mold refers to the method of adiabatic heating using a convection channel to maintain a molten state of plastic between the nozzle and cavity of the injection molding machine, so that there is no pouring system for solidification when the plastic part is taken out during mold opening. The former is called adiabatic runner injection mold, while the latter is called hot runner injection mold.
07 Right angle injection mold
Right angle injection molds are only suitable for angle injection molding machines. Unlike other injection molds, this type of mold is perpendicular to the direction of the opening and closing mold during molding. His main channel is set on both sides of the dynamic and fixed mold parting surfaces, and its cross-sectional area is usually
